We Are Hiring: Digital Communications and Content Coordinator

Springhead Constellation / Constellation Choir & Orchestra
Digital Communications and Content Coordinator
(Part-time · Freelance · Predominantly remote)

About Springhead Constellation

Springhead Constellation is a UK based not-for-profit cultural organisation that connects music, art, and ideas in transformative ways. With The Constellation Choir & Orchestra (CCO) as our flagship ensemble under the artistic direction of Sir John Eliot Gardiner, we celebrate the profound links between performance, history, philosophy, science, and nature.

Based in Springhead, Dorset, we combine intimate gatherings with international projects, creating a dynamic platform for innovation, creativity and reflection.

The Role : Digital Communications and Content Coordinator
Springhead Constellation is looking for a creative and highly organised Digital Communications & Content Coordinator to support our growing programme of concerts, tours and artistic projects.

This is a flexible, part-time freelance role with a particular focus on social media, website content and newsletters.

Working closely with the CEO and wider team, the successful candidate will help shape and maintain Springhead Constellation and CCO’s digital presence – telling the story of our work, communicating upcoming projects and finding engaging ways to share the people, music and ideas behind the organisation.

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of our day-to-day digital communications: planning ahead, identifying stories and opportunities, gathering material from the team, drafting content and keeping our channels active and up to date.

The role will predominantly be remote, with occasional attendance at rehearsals, concerts or events where useful.

Responsibilities

The role will include:

  • Planning and managing content across our social media channels, principally Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Developing and maintaining a forward content calendar around concerts, tours, projects and announcements
  • Writing, editing and scheduling social media content
  • Identifying opportunities for engaging content and gathering material from the artistic and management teams
  • Keeping the Springhead Constellation website accurate and up to date, including concerts, news and project information
  • Helping to create and distribute newsletters and other digital audience communications
  • Ensuring a consistent tone and visual identity across our digital communications
  • Liaising with the CEO and wider team around upcoming projects and priorities

Depending on the successful candidate’s experience and interests, the role could also include:

  • Basic graphic design and creation of digital assets
  • Editing short-form video content
  • Audience development and mailing-list growth
  • Supporting digital campaigns around ticket sales and major announcements
  • Supporting PR activity and coordinating digital content around press announcements
  • Liaising with photographers, videographers and external PR partners
  • Monitoring engagement and providing simple insights into the performance of our digital channels

Person Specification

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience managing social media and digital content professionally
  • Excellent written English and strong copywriting skills
  • A strong visual eye and understanding of engaging digital content
  • Confidence using Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Experience updating website content
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to plan ahead while also responding quickly to events and opportunities
  • The confidence to work independently and take initiative
  • A collaborative and flexible approach to working within a small organisation

Desirable:

  • Experience within classical music, performing arts or the wider cultural sector
  • Experience with email newsletters and mailing platforms
  • Canva or other basic design skills
  • Basic photo and video editing skills
  • Experience with social media scheduling tools
  • An understanding of digital marketing and audience development
  • An interest in music, culture, nature and the wider ideas explored through Springhead Constellation’s work

Contract & Fees

This is initially a part-time freelance position, with a flexible working pattern that can respond to the rhythm of Springhead Constellation’s programme.

Freelance fee: £1,000–£1,500 per month, depending on experience, scope and agreed time commitment.

Workload is likely to vary around concerts, tours and major projects. The precise scope of the role and expected time commitment will therefore be agreed with the successful candidate.

The initial appointment will be for 6 months, with the possibility of developing into a longer-term collaboration.

Please send:

  • A short CV
  • A brief covering email telling us why the role interests you
